This course covers OSHA General Industry Standards and other consensus and proprietary standards that relate to the use of hazardous materials. Course topics include flammable and combustible liquids, compressed gases, LP-gases, and cryogenic liquids. Related processes such as spraying and dipping, and use of electrical equipment in hazardous locations are also discussed. Students will have the knowledge and ability to assess compliance with OSHA hazardous materials standards, determine hazardous (classified) locations, and proper moving, storing, and handling of hazardous materials. In this course you will learn about imminent danger situation, workers fatalities, reporting requirements for hospitalization, amputations, or losses of an eye, worker complaints, referrals, targeted inspections, inspections priorities, phone/fax investigations, on-site inspections including preparation, opening conference, walkaround, closing conference, workers’ rights, results, and appeals process.
