Preparation of fire and emergency services personnel to deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan. Includes the use of instructional
aids and evaluation instruments to meet the Texas Commission on Fire Protection requirements for Fire Instructor I certification.
Deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan, including instructional aids and evaluation forms; adapt lesson plans to the unique requirements of the students; organize the learning environment so that learning is maximized; administer oral, written, and performance tests from a lesson plan; and maintain appropriate records. This course satisfies the curriculum requirements for Fire Instructor I as established by the Texas Commission of Fire Protection (TCFP). Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the TCFP Certification Examination of Fire Instructor I providing they meet all TCFP requirements for certification. This course satisfies the Job Performance Requirements (JPRs) of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, Chapter 8 Fire Instructor.
