This course is open to anyone owning an instrument (class limited to 5 saxophones, 5 trombones, 5 trumpets, piano, guitar, bass and drums) that has some knowledge of reading jazz ensemble music and wishes to participate in a jazz ensemble.  This is not a beginner band and one may need to audition.  The music performed by the Jazz Ensemble will be that of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Bob Mintzer, and others.  Various styles of Jazz music will be performed, including swing, Latin, ensemble, ballad, and contemporary jazz.
